GUIDE can be run on AIX and it analyzes files, generates statistics, provides suggestions for optimizing file sizes and ensuring data integrity. While GUIDE is running, it will sit at the prompt, there’s no output while it’s working on true U2 files.
# cd /APP01/ud/TESTDB
Once guide has completed running there will be 3, possibly 4 files that are generated in the directory the command was executed in.
NOTE: FIXUP.DAT will only appear if there’s file corruption. Keep in mind that there may be left over files that has been renamed and not effecting the account in the generated FIXUP.DAT file.
Review those files for any data integrity errors.
Technology has always been a passion that I've enjoyed.
